Reloxin (Dysport) is a to-be-released form of botulinum toxin type A, and is similar to Botox. What are the differences? It seems that Reloxin is 1/3 less potent than Botox, but with adjustments in concentration, the two products should produce similar efffects. There have also been preliminary reports that Reloxin spreads out more. This may mean that a single injection can treat a larger area of wrinkles, but this remains to be seen.
The Reloxin brand is owned by Medicis, the company that produces the fillers Restylane and Perlane. It is likely to be released in 2009.
