This week, staff members at Allure teamed up to support 6 local families in need. Christmas gifts were donated to the children of these families and a dinner event was held for over 20 local families at the Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens.  The holiday cheer was felt by everyone in attendance.

Last month, Dr. Mok and Dr. Kotlus attended the Michigan Society of Cosmetic Surgery meeting in Troy, Michgan, sponsored by Medicis. Guest lecturer Martin Braun, M.D. from Vancouver spoke about the newest fillers that fight wrinkles. Many Michigan cosmetic surgeons were in attendance, lending support to the society founded by Dr. Kotlus. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Allure Medical Spa is collecting donations to support the Karmanos Cancer Institute.  Karmanos is the only center in Michigan that centers its activities solely on cancer. Allure is matching any donations given through Allure Medical Spa this month. Call 586-992-8300 to donate or request further information on this charitable drive.

Dr. Brett Kotlus, pictured here with a group of Mongolian doctors, spent a week in Ulanbaatar, Mongolia to train local physicians in oculoplastic surgery.  This trip was sponsored by Allure Medical Spa and performed with the aid of Health for Humanity.  These efforts were greatly appreciated by the Mongolian surgeons, who have excellent skills but limited resources in their geographically isolated region. Dr. Kotlus aims to continue medical misison work on a regular basis with the support of Allure Medical Spa.

Allure recently held an informational event at a local hotspot. The Allure Spring Seminar was a big hit with all who attended! Thermage and facial cosmetic surgery were discussed and everyone left with smiles on their faces. Dr. Kotlus described facial aging signs (with some celebrity examples) and possible surgical enhancements to turn back the clock. Dr. Mok explained the incredible nonsurgical results that are possible with Thermage, and a free treatment was given away to a lucky winner. Next time we'll have to find a bigger room, as every seat was filled!
